Additional Scholarships/Grants

 

KAISER FOUNDATION SCHOOL OF NURSING ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

 To be considered for a Scholarship from the Kaiser Foundation School of Nursing Alumni Association (KFSNAA), the Applicant must meet the following criteria:

  1. Enrolled in an accredited Nursing program (AD, BSN, MSN, DNP, or PH.D Nursing). Accreditation may be through the NLN, AACN, or the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  2. GPA 3.0 or higher
  3. Second year (or higher) of RN pre-licensure nursing program or if in post-licensure program has passed NCLEX

Submit by: JUNE 30, 2022 the following:

 Application (see below)

 Proof of Enrollment – An “Enrollment Statement” from the Registrar’s office: stating enrollment in the college and school of nursing for Fall Semester 2022.

 Official GPA Transcript from the Office of the Registrar.

 A letter of recommendation from a Registered Nurse who can address how the Applicant may be expected to advance the profession of nursing.

 A W-9 form from the school’s Financial Aid Office in order to expedite funding of scholarships.

 A letter from the Applicant that includes statements regarding:

  1. why he/she has chosen nursing as a career.
  2. expectations/aspirations for how one’s career will contribute to the profession, or to the health of one’s community.
  3. a description of financial need.

Golden State Nursing Foundation Scholarships

Scholarship Information

Scholarships are awarded to nursing students with California residency who demonstrate the strong desire to promote the nursing profession through excellence in their studies, devotion to patient care and advancement of the nursing profession.

There are three categories, two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded in each category:

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Master’s Entry Program Nursing (MEPN) or Entry-Level Master’s (ELM)
  • Advanced degree – Masters, Doctorate, PhD

Requirements for Scholarship

  • Applicants must be attending or be accepted to an accredited nursing school program for one of the following:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – a BSN program

    • Master’s Entry Program Nursing (MEPN) or Entry-Level Master’s (ELM)

    • Advanced Degree – Master’s, Doctorate: must have their RN license and be attending or accepted to a professionally accredited master’s or doctorate program in nursing

  • Only applications including two Letters of Recommendation received by the due date will be considered.

Important Dates

  • Applications and Letters of Support (2) are due each year by June 30.
  • Awards will be announced this year on August 15.
  • Awards will be distributed this year by September 1.

Scholarship/Awards Committee Selection Criteria

The Committee will review each application and assign points (1-30) to the following:

  • ANA\C, CNSA or other nursing organization membership and participation
  • Other school organization or club membership and participation
  • Contributions in healthcare & nursing through volunteer and\or employment
  • Prior healthcare leadership history
  • Nursing career goals
  • Publications & presentations
  • Preference will be given to students attending or accepted to a California based school
  • Additional support information, awards, achievements, honors related to healthcare – EXCLUDING other scholarships
