COMMUNITY HEALTH PROJECT AWARDIt is no secret that CNSA chapters do outstanding community work. In recognition of this, each year the CNSA Board of Directors presents three Population and Global Health Awards to CNSA chapters that complete community health projects at the (1) Community, (2) Population, and (3) Global levels. Any project that benefits the community is eligible. In the past, projects have included food baskets for the homeless, AIDS awareness and CPR education. We look forward to seeing what your chapter has identified as a community, population, or global need and what actions you took. Since most chapters do at least one community project, we encourage every single chapter to apply for this award. Examples for each individual award could include:
For each award, a certificate and $100 will be awarded to the winning Chapter at the Awards Ceremony on October 4th during the 2020 Annual Convention. Additionally, there will be honorable mentions to chapters, as we want to thank and recognize those who are maintaining their commitment to their communities. ELIGIBILITY

BREAKTHROUGH TO NURSING PROJECT AWARDWorking on a Breakthrough to Nursing project is one of the major avenues by which nursing students can act in a unified way to ultimately improve the way that nursing care is catered to diverse groups of people. This award is given to the CNSA school chapter whose project best demonstrates their commitment to assisting nontraditional nursing students to successfully complete their education. The Breakthrough to Nursing (BTN) branch of the California Nursing Students' Association (CNSA) works to increase the diversity of nursing in California by supporting and encouraging nontraditional nursing students. For this reason, BTN has developed this award to encourage the design and implementation of creative projects that work to embolden nontraditional students and help them to successfully complete their nursing programs. These projects provide participants with leadership opportunities ultimately helping them to develop their skills as they pursue a career in nursing.
