Abstract and Poster Presentation Guidelines

The CNSA Annual Conference provides an opportunity for nursing students, faculty, and CNSA chapters to share scholarly work, share innovative ideas, and promote evidence-based nursing practice. Submissions may include research studies, evidence-based practice projects, quality improvement initiatives, educational innovations, leadership projects, or other scholarly endeavors related to nursing. 

All abstract submissions are welcome and will be considered for presentation provided they meet the following guidelines: 

Abstract submissions should:

• Address a topic that is relevant to nursing practice, nursing education, leadership, quality improvement, or professional development.
• Clearly articulate the purpose, objectives, research question, or project goals. 
• Be supported by current, credible, scholarly evidence. References should be peer-reviewed and published within the past five years whenever possible. References should be included with abstract submission. 
• Demonstrate the significance to nursing practice, patient outcomes, nursing education, leadership, or healthcare systems. 
• Be no more than 600 words, typed. 
• Include subheadings that organize your purpose, background and significance to nursing, methods, results, and implications for nursing practice. 

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 22^nd, 2026

Abstract Approvals Deadline: October 6^th, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: All Poster Presenters are required to be registered attendees of the CNSA 2026 Convention

Upon approval to present, a poster should be created that meets the following guidelines:

Presentation posters should:

• Standard research poster size (3’ x 4’ landscape orientation)
• Be designed for display on a standard pin-up board (you are responsible for providing your own tacks or pushpins for mounting)
• Be organized in a logical and coherent manner appropriate to the type of project, including appropriate subheadings
• Use fonts, graphics, tables, and figures that enhance readability and effectively communicate key findings
• Exhibit a professional appearance with a visually balanced and engaging design. 
• Have references included and/or readily available via QR code included on the poster. 
• Presenters should expect to stand with their poster during a designated time to talk about their work and answer questions. 

CNSA encourages submissions from students in all stages of their nursing journey. Poster presentations are intended to foster scholarly exchange, encourage collaboration, and provide a forum for sharing work that advances nursing knowledge, education, leadership, and clinical practice. .
