Dear CNSA Member and Prospective Candidate:

     Although the state convention is still many months away, it is never too early to consider becoming more involved. In 2012, student delegates from around the state will converge in Irvine, CA, to elect the board of directors for the upcoming year. I want to congratulate you on your decision to run for the 2012-2013 Board. Your willingness to serve, lead and contribute to our state’s pre-professional organization & the nursing profession is an admirable duty. Your donated time and effort is greatly appreciated.

     The Nominations Packet contains information on the general responsibilities of all members of the CNSA Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, as well as descriptions of each available position. Please refer to the CNSA policies regarding Nominations, Candidacy, Elections, and Campaigns; all are enclosed.
    
    When you are ready to declare your candidacy, please complete, sign, and submit both the (1) Application For State Board Elected Positions, and (2) Elected Position’s Willingness To Serve document, which are included in this packet. It is important that you read and understand the CNSA bylaws before submitting your Willingness to Serve document; the complete CNSA state bylaws are available on the website at www.cnsa.org/bylaws.html. In addition, please be prepared to attend a board meeting and photographing events on the day that you are elected.

     Being involved in CNSA has opened up a whole new world of opportunities and experiences within the field of nursing. In life, the experiences that you go through and the people that you meet along the way make up who you are, CNSA has given me invaluable insight into myself as a person, a professional and leader. I sincerely hope you will achieve the same. To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.
