Hello everyone. My name is Kelley Stewart and I am currently enjoying my third semester at San Diego State University. It is has been a wonderful experience to serve as Community Health Director on the San Diego State NSA Board and it has been a goal of mine to bring that same passion to the sate level. There are numerous community health projects that have interested my own chapter and I would love to hear about those that interest you. It is my goal to encourage all of you to take time to step out of the text, and into your community or even internationally to find a cause; charity or organization inspires you to get involved in. Ongoing collaboration can bring awareness and positive change on a variety of levels that more students can identify with and participate in. It is also a priority of mine to continue the strong foundation that our previous Community Health Director, Kelli Snyder has begun by maintaining her state project of Student Nurses for the Cure. I also plan on building on previous projects such as increasing Red Cross involvement and Penny Wars, set forth by Marla Brown and Ingrid Suarez. Maintaining established programs and piloting new projects that interest you will provide a variety of options we can share within our own communities. Together we can make a difference. In the words of Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I look foreword to a successful year and invite you to join me in making it happen.
